    Question school efficency

George W. Bush started the **AP program,
wether it is CSAP ASAP VSAP or other, this program was started with the no child left behind doctrine. however when first elected Bush started the jump start program. the latter was designed to accelerate the education levels in elementry and junior high school levels. with this program the teachings in mathmatics, english, science, and history would become more dificult in what was happening for example in 2nd grade students would learn more advanced skills in mathmatics, and science, like multiplication, division of three to six digit numbers, or the scientific process. for egslish they would startlearning cursive, in history the start of WWI and the civil war, by fifth grade students would be expected to knw the basis of quadratic equations, plane geometry and algebraic visualisations, by eigth grade almost every student would know the basics of pre cal. but then what? after junior high school almost every student would be able to pass the SAT and ACT with out even thinking. there is not a whole lot left. they would alredy know almost all of the US. history and all of the mathmatic skills needed to survive in the world today. high school would become almost obsolite. then we needed the no child left behind grant... (is it just me or does it seem like someone lost some ground???) this program was designed to allow students whom couldent meet the current standards of education a smaller hurdle to pass to the next grade. most tests would be changed to bubble format, less free response questions. this standerdized students into one faceless herd and have each student a number insted of their names, i am student 1107100 of d11 80909, not Joe. with less free response questions the student who would have told you that if you have eight apples and you take three apples you would still have eight because you took your own apples. that is the number one way to tell if a student is "gifted and talented" or if they have a unique way of thinking. in a cache twenty-two type effect the students whom could have accelerated in education due to a diffrent thought process are ignored and held to a lower standard, ending up in bordem and drug use. in the last 4 years the drop-out rate has increased from 6% to almost 40%, only 4 out of every 10 students whom ho to highschool will complete all four years, and only 7 out of ten who graduate will go on to college and, only 4 out of every ten who go to college will get a degree, and one of those will get a degree higer than a masters... over $2,000,000,000 are given in grants each year, that is money you dont have to give back. over $7,000,000 in scholarships for the avrage student and even more in loans. every student has the potential to go to collage, 60% of americans have an education above high school 40% either droped out or never went to college. what is going on here???

this is my rant on the educational system, and i would like to hear your thoughts and opinions.

All I have to say about Bush’s 'No Child Left Behind' program is that it’s a piece of shit. It gives more money to schools for doing better academically and takes away money from schools that do bad academically. We should have an education program that puts more money into the poorer schools, not take away what they need most.

New Mexico has the high dropout rate. Last year there were only 120 or so seniors graduating at my school (there is about 1200 students at my school). Also about 2 years ago my school was in danger of having funding removed if we did not meet New Mexico education standards. All thanks to 'No Child Left Behind'.

Jesus fucking Christ, I was trying to find a definite statistic on United States and New Mexico dropout rates and there isn’t one. This is what I found:

2006 Public High School Graduation Rate Breakdown

    • 100 percent – 2 schools (0.6%)
    • 90-99.9 percent – 42 schools (11.6%)
    • 80-89.9 percent – 159 schools (44.0%)
    • 70-79.9 percent – 98 schools (27.1%)
    • 60-69.9 percent – 34 schools (9.4%)
    • 50-59.9 percent – 11 schools (3.0%)
    • Less than 50 percent – 15 schools (4.2%)

    And look at this article:

States fudging high school dropout rates

New Mexico, for example, reported to DOE a graduation rate of almost 90 percent, one of the nation's highest. However, the state does not track the percentage of freshman who graduate, only seniors. This ignores students who dropped out in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades. State education officials said they are in the process of developing a new system to more accurately track dropouts by the 2005-2006 school year.

"It's astonishing that states are trying to pass off these numbers as legitimate," said Daria Hall, author of the report and a policy analyst at the Education Trust. "Rather than confront our very real dropout problem, many states have chosen to bury it beneath false data."

I think, but don't claim it to be fact, that my school was an efficient learning facility.
