I know about dll errors, but I am saying for easier transfer, you can use wine for most things. You can also install the dll's you need for programs.

Where do you download the DLL for an application, and how do you know which one is right?

Oh, shit, um... I can't remember exactly. I mean, I was installing Word 2007 on it and wine doesn't support it but a lot of people have put it on. It requires some extra .dll files. So, I found out which ones (google search) and then I did a search on how to install word 2007 and someone posted step by step instructions on installing the .dll files. You pretty much, install the program (which won't run) and then link the .dll files to the program through wine's software. It can be done. I did it. But that was about 6 months ago and my memory is shit. Do some research.
