Safety is my #1 concern, no doubts about it. I am designing this to go into cars so it's pretty important I don't set them on fire as my mates won't be impressed if I light their cars on fire...

Do you happen to know how much heat the asbestos free fire blankets can withstand? I know they generally work by removing the oxygen from the fire to put it out but surely they can withstand a fair bit of heat. I'm also going to experiment with adding small quantities of Potassium Sulfate to the mix to lower the burning temperature.
Why exactly are you going to put this in a vehicle?

Into the boot, not within the cabin

Couple of my friends recently did very poor jobs of installing car audio gear into their boots. I'm going to make them believe their cars are on fire.

I figure the boot is fairly safe, it won't restrict their visibility and they can simple pull over.

Smoke bombs to emit sparks and im almost positive if you dont just burn the dashboard you burn some interior.

Use the normal smoke bombs but get the purple one's since its white smoke which is released and do some tests like on some old shirts or something so you can see the amount of sparks emitted and if the shirt burns or w.e u use you obviously know your going to cause damage to the vehicles.

But hell if your dumb enough to do it go 4 it but im not helping ya and i doubt anyone else in the forum will fo that purpose.
