    help?!?

ok... sigh... my computer was running fine a few days ago.. but a little slow. my friend told me to use AVAST anti-virus... bad idea. i downloaded it... anyone farmiliar iwth it knows the first time it re-boots your computer and preforms a full scan. well this was all fine and dandy untill i seen it delete a few things starting with c:/windows.. now i dunno much about computers but i dont think thats a good thing.... anyway after it was over the computer finished loading... kinda. all i got is a blue screen. i can bring up the task manager and still open everything (everything ive tryed anyway). but i got no desktop , task bar or anything. ive tryed system restore.... says unsucessfull no matter wich date i go to... same blue screen. in my opinion my only option is to reinstall the OS... but i dont have any boot disks or anything. and i was told if i had no disks to restart the computer and hit f8... something else about system restore. did that and i went to a loading screen... finished loading... and took me to my blue, blank desktop....... anyone got any ideas?!?

um when they saif restart and f8 restart it and keep pressing f8 till you go to a dif screen click safe mode, administarter..but if that doesent work i would just nuke your computer completely and order the shit you need offline..you should be able to buy the seperate discs somewhere?

^agreed. Try safe mode and if that doesn't work, reinstall. You can download XP (which is what I am guessing you have) from a torrent burn it to a disc if you don't have it.
