    Bud legalization

ok so as much as i know most ppl on this website HATE obama to be honest i could care less who won the race but any way. Lot of Speculation that obama will legalize weed or decriminalize it like it all ready is here in ohio. so i ganked this quote from yahoo to see if any one agress with it.

"Barack Obama, the senatorial candidate of 2004, might have a bone to pick with Barack Obama, the presidential candidate of 2008.

Videotapes of debates and speeches that were obtained by The Washington Times show that Mr. Obama took positions during his Senate campaign on nearly a half-dozen issues ranging from the Cuba embargo to health care for illegal aliens that conflict with statements that he has made during his run for the White House.

For example, in MSNBC’s Oct. 30 presidential debate, Mr. Obama hesitantly raised his hand and joined with most of his Democratic rivals to declare he opposed decriminalizing marijuana. (See clip below.)

But as a U.S. Senate candidate, Mr. Obama told Illinois college students in January 2004 he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use or possession, a debate video shows.

“I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws,” Mr. Obama said during a debate at Northwestern University. “But I’m not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana.”(See clip below.)

When confronted with the statements on the video, Obama’s campaign offered two explanations to The Times in less than 24 hours. At first, Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said the candidate had “always” supported decriminalizing marijuana, suggesting that his 2004 statement was correct. Then after The Times posted copies of the video on its Web site, www.washingtontimes.com, yesterday, his campaign reversed course and declared he does not support eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana possession and use.

Assuming Obama can’t tell when he is lifting up his arm to vote (green “Yes” voting buttons and red “No” voting buttons also confuse Obama), why did he not bother to clarify his position the day after the debate? Who is this guy? "

the reason why bud will never be legal is because the government makes too much money from it being illegal .think about how many people get busted with less then 20 grams every day that single possession charge is now going to cost you around 15oo bucks payable to the state not mention all of the DEA and customs agents that have jobs because of drugs

thats actually pretty wrong, it cost more for the government to actually keep arresteing people for marijuana possesion. The States are actually realising this themselves and have become decriminalizeing it. JUST LIKE MASSACHUSsETTS MO-FOCKERS!!!!(just another reason we're better then all yall) 13 states have now decriminalized it. in MASS most of the police even voted to decriminalize it because its a waste, now all they have to do is write a ticket for $100, all because they're all officerdickheads who are as crooked as a lighting bolt.

it can actually bring so much money into the country by useing it for, papper, clothing, smokeing, foods, medication, etc.

That is actually the same view point. Decriminalization and something being legal are 2 different things. Decriminalization is pretty much a reform of the law, not the removal of one. When marijuana is decriminalized in a state it still carries a penalty for possession, usually a $100 Petty Offense fine.
Through decriminalization, the government makes more money since no one is getting locked up.

they would make more money if they legalized it and put a excise tax on it

i just think it will be to hard to regulate
it is kinda a bitch to make your own whiskey in your basement but you could easily grow your own bud
so people would just get it from friends and instead of drinking they would blaze and not pay money on alchohol

eh no i disagree, it would be a whole lot easier to just go out and buy some from a gas station instead of growing your own, especially if you dont know how

Couldnt be any harder than it is now. If your already stealth growing then youll keep doing it.

Distribution license and a growers license would be the way to go.
