Yeah, I was thinking maybe you could if your PS3 had Linux, but than again you wouldn't have the 360 hardware/software or any of the compatibility to have support for the LIVE accounts, etc. Plus Microsoft would most likely pick up on a mod like that anyways and boot you off of their servers.

However I would like to see a console that could perform the cross platform server support.

are you talking about the ones you get out of the game cases? the free 48-hour trials? thats how i do it. i go into a video store that rents games i look in the cases for the little pamphlet they come with and usually behind that is a free trial for xbox live. its easy and i havent had to pay for a live subscription for a while. yes it is very tedious but i dont have time to devote to my console so why spend money when its all for not.

i don't have a 360 anymore, but when i did i had live.. and i don't see what the big deal is, you seriously can't spare $5 a month? rofl if that's the case, then how'd you get a 360 or an internet connection in the first place? besides, making accounts over and over again or stealing little 48-hour cards sounds like 10 times more work than it would be to make a few bucks helping your neighbor move a couch, or, hell, i bet you didn't think of this one! get a fucking job.

if you're really that cheap, get Xbox Connect, you have a computer (obviously) now just hook it up to the same router as your Xbox, sure, people on XBC pretty much only play Halo and Halo 2, but if $5 is too rich for your blood, then you now have a solution
