I explain to him that there's no reason not to accept empirical evidence to the contrary. If he says that the lord works in mysterious ways, I curbstomp him.
I think that the virtual entirety of the scientific community knows better than I do regarding such a subject, and if the Christian agrees, then we can proceed. If he thinks he knows better, then I go cry in a corner for humanity.
If he believes in logic, he'll say that the scientific conclusion is most likely the correct one. If he doesn't, he'll say it's because of God's word.
