Thread: how to get black powder(for tha little noobs)

  1. #21
you can't trust wikipedia as absolute fact. i believe the misconceptions over the powders come form relevent uses. back in the old days of muskets and what not balck powder would have been gunpowder, but now is replaced by smokeless powder. so the smokeless powder is now gun powder because it is used in guns, and black powder is known as black powder because its.....well, black powder.

Exactly, the meaning of the term "gunpowder" is a direct reference to the propellant used in the manufacturing of ammunition during any given period of time, and will continually change with the progression of propellant technology in the ammunition industry.

I see, it would be like having a nuclear "fuel" for cars in the future and a guy saying it's gas.... Good explination.

I dont know what the big fucking deal is and why there is always a new thread on how to make black powder. Can't you just buy this shit at a gun store and tell the guy behind the counter that you have an antique carbine (or tell him to shut the fuck up and stop asking bullshit questions; like I always do to this old asshole in the sporting good section at wal-mart who gives me shit whever i buy ammo). He always bothers me, but never the scary-ass drunk guy with bloodshot eyes behind me buying 9mms to kill his wife back at the trailer park. Wal-mart shits on their employees anyway, so its not like their gonna do anything about it.

Since I've never bought gun powder I can't say for certain but isn't it like 18 or older? If it is how much shit can they give you, you are either old enough to buy it or you aren't. I am getting visions of some guy at a gas station explaining to the clerk that the cigar he wants to buy isn't for weed and he's part of a cigar aficionado club while the clerk repeats over and over "50 cents please".

But again, I've never bought gun powder - is there any process besides showing ID and paying I am unaware of?
