Because... although it is not the conventional black powder pipe bomb that you are used to, it is using the same type of force to compromise its container: PRESSURE. I can understand you guys flaming me about its classification as a pressure bomb. The problem with this assertion, though, is that black powder deflagrates and does not create a shockwave like real explosives either. It is a fact that the power and sound of a black powder pipe bomb is almost entirely dependent on the strength of the casing (albeit you need sufficient BP to blow the casing). In fact, the whole reason for any non-terrorist to use a pipe bomb is to hold the pressure of the gases created by the burning BP so that the pipe is destroyed at maximum pressure.

Another reason why this thread is valuable is its contribution to improved safety and decreased cost/effort. I really do consider this a revolutionary step forward in backyard pyrotechnics. Never before were you able to prepare 25 pipe bombs in the time it takes to synthesize napalm. And never before was the average teenager able to purchase such a large amount of fire power for twelve to thirteen dollars. I am not sure that all of you understand this, but I have turned my Wal-Mart into a pipe bomb dealer without them even knowing. Though I doubt that they would really care.
Not only that, but it is also nearly impossible for my idea to be abused. You cannot detonate them for malicious purposes without the would-be victim becoming suspicious of a burning pipe covered in a material similar in appearance to C-4. There are also no worries of faulty fuses costing you a perfectly good set of hands. All the differences from a BP/PB (black powder pipe bomb) are inarguably positive and significant. The relative unpredictability makes these even more exciting.
