Tutorial to Growing with CFL’s

*What are CFL's?*
Image:...

What are CFL's?

A Compact Fluorescent Light is a type of fluorescent that was originally designed to replace the standard E26 Edison Incandescent Lamp. The reason being, CFL’s will put out the same amount of visible light using much less power and a significantly longer rated life span. Even though the price of the CFL’s is higher than Incandescent bulb’s, they are generally rated to run anywhere from 8,000 to 15,000 hours. There many advantages of using CFL’s. Maybe you are growing personal smoke, or you can’t afford an HID system, or an HID system just isn’t practical. For some, HID lights aren’t available in their area. However, CFL’s are sold almost anywhere (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc…). CFL’s are in general a much cheaper growing solution, and their just plain simple to use –self-ballastedand it screw’s into a regular light socket. I’m NOT saying CFL’s are better for growing than HID‘s, but in some cases it’s the only thing that will work.

CFL Wattage

Now sometimes there can be a lot of confusion when it comes to power of the light due to poor labeling but we will do our best toclear all of that up. Normally light manufacturers that make CFL’s generally will put two numbers on the box your CFL comes in. One is Actual Wattage and one is the Incandescent Equal. As you can see here on this CFL the Actual Wattage is 23 Watts, and it’s Incandescent Equal is 100 Watt’s. You need to totally ignore the Incandescent Equal and pay attention only to the Actual Wattage of the Bulb.

Color Temperature

You might see a lot of different labels when shopping at the store for CFL’s. Label’s including Soft White, Warm White, Cool White, Bright White, Halogen White, Daylight White, Full Spectrum. And also label’s like 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, 5000K, 6400K, and 6500K. These are all the color temperature of the light you are using. This is a measure of how warm or cool the light given off by a lamp appears, with warmer colors having a yellowish tinge and cooler colors being tinged with blue. What confuses some people is that the warmer a color is, the colder its color temperature is. (ex. Warm White = 2700K). Bulbs ranging in the 2700K-3000K spectrum are usually labeled Warm White or Soft White, bulbs ranging in the 3500K – 4000K spectrum are bright white or cool white, 5000K is labeled Full Spectrum, and finally 6400K – 6500K is labeled Daylight. You can grow an entire crop with CFL’s if you chose the right spectrum of bulb’s. For Vegetation you will want to use 6500K or 5000K, and when you flower you will want to switch to 2700K or 3000K . The reason being, throughout the year the plant’s outside receive more 6500K light because the day’s in summer are long and hot and as Autumn/Winter get’s closer the day get’s shorter, and gradually receives less 6500K light and more 2700K light as the plant flower’s. Do what you can to avoid bulbs within that 3500K – 4000K because they emit very little light that Is useful to your plant. Notice here the difference between the CT of these lamp’s

How to use CFL’s?

In order to efficiently use CFL’s to grow your MJ you will need to position the lights around 2 – 4 inches from the foliage of the plant. If you place the light too close, then your plant will have nothing to vertically stretch to and it will remain short and stocky. (Ex. My First Grow and FarmingToronto’s) Some people combat this by addingCFL’s to the side of foliage instead of on top of it. On the other hand if the light is too far away from the plant, the stem will suffer elongation (stretching), which will result in loose and fluffy bud’s.It is very important to note that when using CFL’s it’s a daily “battle” to have lights in the right spot. Many of us are in our grow areas at least once a day anyway, so to move your bulbs a bit really isn’t that big a deal. Also many people wonder is it better to have many low watt CFL’s or just a few high watt CFL’s. Both way’s are capable of provided you a good harvest but I suggest you chose the configuration that is easiest for you and your grow area.

Where can I get these CFL’s?

Many low wattage (23-42) CFL’s can be bought at locate retail giants , such as Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot, and just about any hardware store you can find. If you are looking to purchase higher wattage (42 – 200) CFL’s I would recommend ordering them online. http://www.1000bulbs.com/2-to-200-Wa...n-Light-Bulbs/ has very good prices on CFL’s ranging from 2 – 200 Watt’s. http://www.buylighting.com/Non-Dimma...scent-s/75.htm has a good selection ranging from 5 – 200 Watt’s in a wide range of spectrum’s. I have used both of these sites several times and I would recommend them to anyone that plan’s to grow with CFL’s.

In the end there are many different GOOD setup’s so don’t set your mind on the ONE perfect CFL setup. Just apply these basic tip’s when starting a CFL grow and you WILL see success. If you have any questions or comment’s I would greatly appreciate it.

This is a remote administration tool. You can control another PC using this utility. Also has many nifty features that will allow you to find out a lot of information about the affected PC.
More information inside.

Download Link is at very bottom of my post, below the tutorial, and above my signatures.
RAR Password: xchacks.net

----------PART 1-----------
====Introduction====
Poison Ivy is a powerful RAT.

RAT means remote administration tool. It is Not harmful at all. You use it to control another PC remotely.

You may explore files, view webcam, screenshots, keystrokes, passwords etc, almost anything remotely!

Now don't worry about the download or program setup until you have properly configured your IP and portforwarding!!

What is DNS and Portforwarding???

You need to understand how the server connects to the client.
When you run the server on a pc it will automatically try to connect to the Ip and port that you specified when you built it. (you will learn to build the server below - it is very easy)

Here is an illustration on the connection to help clarify what we're trying to achieve here:

victim pc----->dns host----->your IP----->your open port----->your RAT on your PC.

**Go to your Router/modem settings page to get your dns
** OR type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes in command prompt and press enter and look for Dns

-------------Part 2-------------
===Port Forwarding and DNS Configuration===
Since most of you are behind a router (modem), your Ip changes everyday.

If you configure the server to connect on YOUR IP directly , the next day you will not receive connections.

To permanantly receive connections you need to sign up for a free "no-IP" DNS service on either dyndns.com or no-ip.biz.

Register for a free account at dyndns.com or no-ip.biz .

Next, perform these changes on your pc :

Set a Static IP to receive direct connection*

A. Go to programs>accessories>communications>network connections

B. Rightclick on your connection and click properties

C. Go to tcp/ip setting's properties

This is what you might see after clicking TCP/IP properties
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5...iguretcpip.jpg
Now you are ready to use the server.
First let's test to see if it works!
Best way to see if you did it right is email or use a flash drive to bring your created ".exe" to another PC with no anti virus
Once the file is in a folder on their PC somewhere, double click it and delete it if it doesn't disappear on it's own. [ deleting it will not make it so it doesn't work. ]
Now the target PC is infected.

Go back to your PC, open poison ivy, ( make sure you do not open the ".exe" you created on your own PC. )

click file>new client>

enter port that you want to listen connection (the one you put in your server, the same one you set in port forwarding)

click start...

The "connections tab shows current connections, and the statistics tab shows connection attempts/logs

wait for a connection. ( if you did it right, the target PC should connect within seconds.)

If it worked, you will see the target PC on your connections screen. HAZAH!

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8797/39376548.jpg

The first things you need to know about using Bit Torrent:
Will make one tomorrow only got 5mins left on here so just quickly posted this.

-- Bit Torrent is aimed at broadband users (or any connection better than dialup).
-- Sharing is highly appreciated, and sharing is what keeps bit torrent alive.
-- A bit torrent file (*.torrent) contains information about the piece structure of the download (more on this later)
-- The method of downloading is not your conventional type of download. Since downloads do not come in as one
big chunk, you are able to download from many people at once, increasing your download speeds. There may be
100 "pieces" to a file, or 20,000+ pieces, all depending on what you're downloading. Pieces are usually small (under 200kb)
-- The speeds are based upon people sharing as they download, and seeders. Seeders are people who constantly
share in order to keep torrents alive. Usually seeders are on fast connections (10mb or higher).

In this tutorial, I will be describing it all using a bit torrent client called Azureus. This client is used to decode the .torrent files into a usable format to download from other peers. From here on out, I will refer to Bit Torrent as BT.

Which BT client you use, is purely up to you. I have tried them all, and my personal favorite is Azureus for many reasons. A big problem with most BT clients out there, is that they are extre***y CPU intensive, usually using 100% of your cpu power during the whole process. This is the number one reason I use Azureus. Another, is a recently released plug-in that enables you to browse all current files listed on suprnova.org (the #1 source for torrent downloads).

Before you use the plug-in, take a look at http://www.suprnova.org, and browse the files. Hold your mouse over the links, and you'll notice every file ends in .torrent. This is the BT file extension. Usually, .torrent files are very small, under 200kb. They contain a wealth of information about the file you want to download. A .torrent file can contain just 1 single file, or a a directory full of files and more directories. But regardless, every download is split up into hundreds or thousands of pieces. The pieces make it much easier to download at higher speeds. Back to suprnova.org. Look at the columns:

Added | Name | Filesize | Seeds | DLs (and a few more which aren't very useful.)

I'll break this down.
Added: Self explanitory, its the date the torrent was added.
Name: Also self explanitory.
Filesize: Duh
Seeds: This is how many people are strictly UPLOADING, or sharing. These people are the ones that keep .torrent files alive. By "alive", I mean, if there's no one sharing the .torrent file, no one can download.
DLs: This is how many people currently downloading that particular torrent. They also help keep the torrent alive as they share while they download.

It's always best to download using a torrent that has a decent amount of seeders and downloaders, this way you can be assured there's a good chance your download will finish. The more the better.

Now that you should understand how torrent files work, and how to use them, on to Azureus!
First, get JAVA! You need this to run Azureus, as java is what powers it. Get Java here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
Next, get Azureus at: http://azureus.sourceforge.net
Next, get the Suprnovalister plugin from http://s93732957.onlinehome.us/stora...novalister.jar

Install Java JRE before you do ANYTHING.

Install Azureus, and then in the installation folder, create 2 more folders. ./Plugins/suprnovalister (For example, if you installed Azureus to C:\PROGRAM FILES\AZUREUS, create C:\PROGRAM FILES\AZUREUS\PLUGINS\SUPRNOVALISTER). Next, put the suprnovalister.jar file that you downloaded, in that folder.

Load up Azureus, and if you want, go through the settings and personalize it.

The tab labeled "My Torrents" is the section of Azureus you need the most often. That lists all your transfers, uploads and downloads. It shows every bit of information you could possibly want to know about torrents you download.

In the menu bar, go to View > Plugins > Suprnova Lister. This will open up a new tab in Azureus. Click on "Update Mirror". This will get a mirror site of suprnova.org containing all current torrent files available. Once a mirror is grabbed, choose a category from the drop-down box to the left and click "Update". Wah-lah, all the available downloads appear in the main chart above. Just double click a download you want, and bang its starting to download. Open the "My Torrents" tab again to view and make sure your download started.

After your download has finished, be nice, and leave the torrent transferring. So people can get pieces of the file from you, just as you got pieces from other people.

Alternatively, if you don't want to use the plugin... you can just head to suprnova.org and download files to any folder. Then go to File > Open > .torrent File in Azureus.

This is a remote administration tool. You can control another PC using this utility. Also has many nifty features that will allow you to find out a lot of information about the affected PC.
More information inside.

Download Link is at very bottom of my post, below the tutorial, and above my signatures.
RAR Password: xchacks.net

====TUTORIAL====

----------PART 1-----------
====Introduction====

Poison Ivy is a powerful RAT.

* RAT means remote administration tool. It is Not harmful at all. You use it to control another PC remotely.
* You may explore files, view webcam, screenshots, keystrokes, passwords etc, almost anything remotely!

* Now don't worry about the download or program setup until you have properly configured your IP and portforwarding!!

-------------Part 2-------------
===Port Forwarding and DNS Configuration===

Since most of you are behind a router (modem), your Ip changes everyday.

* If you configure the server to connect on YOUR IP directly , the next day you will not receive connections.
* To permanantly receive connections you need to sign up for a free "no-IP" DNS service on either dyndns.com or no-ip.biz.

1. Register for a free account at dyndns.com or no-ip.biz .
2. Next, perform these changes on your pc :
3. Set a Static IP to receive direct connection*
4. A. Go to programs>accessories>communications>network connections

B. Rightclick on your connection and click properties

C. Go to tcp/ip setting's properties

This is what you might see after clicking TCP/IP properties

To see your machines IP information;

1. * Start>Run...>"cmd" without quotes>"ipconfig /all" without quotes and press enter
or* Go to your Router/modem settings page to get your dns

1. In the TCP/IP properties, using your Ip information from the CMD "ipconfig /all" window;
2. enter your chosen ip (example:192.168.1.50)
3. enter your subnet mask (if not automatically stated)*
4. enter default gateway*
5. enter your dns
6. save changes

See caps below

Navigating to TCP/IP properties

Using Router Setting to find DNS servers.

Using "ipconfig /all" in cmd to find DNS servers.

CONFIGURE YOUR ROUTER/MODEM SETTINGS TO FORWARD CONNECTION ON DESIRED INTERNAL IP (in this example i mentioned 192.168.1.50. .. don't forget to forward ports to this ip at the portforwarding stage.

* Go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 or any address that opens your settings page

1. Go to applicaitons /gaming settings or any headings that looks like it contains settings for ports opening/forwarding
2. Edit any line for the remote ***** client.
3. Name it RAT
4. Enter port number to be forwarded to your internal IP
5. Do this for tcp and udp
6. Enable it
7. And save changes

For more info about portforwarding, go to portforward.com.

Now you are ready to open the Rat Client to listen for connection.

-------------PART 3------------
======THE CLIENT======

* You now have the Poison Ivy client. Its icon looks like the leaf of IVY plant.
* When you open it, the disclaimer will pop up. Choose not to show this again.
* Now you are facing the GUI (graphical user interface of the RAT)

1. Go to file>new server
2. create new profile
3. and proceed as below.

--------------Part4------------
===Using & Abusing!===

The moment of truth

Now you are ready to use the server.
First let's test to see if it works!
Best way to see if you did it right is email or use a flash drive to bring your created ".exe" to another PC with no anti virus
Once the file is in a folder on their PC somewhere, double click it and delete it if it doesn't disappear on it's own. [ deleting it will not make it so it doesn't work. ]
Now the target PC is infected.

Go back to your PC, open poison ivy, ( make sure you do not open the ".exe" you created on your own PC. )

1. click file>new client>
2. enter port that you want to listen connection (the one you put in your server, the same one you set in port forwarding)
3. click start...
4. The "connections tab shows current connections, and the statistics tab shows connection attempts/logs
5. wait for a connection. ( if you did it right, the target PC should connect within seconds.)
6. If it worked, you will see the target PC on your connections screen. HAZAH!
