So I saw the news about Left4Dead 2 and was psyched since I liked the first game and had a lot of fun playing it with my friends. But it seems not everyone feels this way. With a story on Kotaku, pissed off users on Valves forum, a handful of youtube vids, and a 10,000 strong boycott it seems that PC gamers are quite pissed off about this news.

From what I gather the reasons are as follows:

Valve promised support for Left4Dead which would include patches, new weapons, new characters, and entirely new maps for campaign mode. However instead of delivering on this they instead announce a sequel not more than a year after the original games release.

The weird thing is that the division between those who are upset and those who aren't are almost entirely down the lines of whether or not you play mainly on consoles or on a PC.

After all Valve is known for pumping out great DLC for their games and PC users love the company for just that reason and see this announcement of a sequel as a slap in the face. While console gamers loved the first game and look forward to a sequel because DLC isn't as big yet in their market. Sure there are patches and occasionally great DLC, such as Oblivion or Fallout 3, but the majority doesn't come close to the quality seen on the PC.

So I'm curious about 2 things:
1. Are you a PC gamer or a Console gamer?
2. Are you looking forward to the sequel or not?

So this years E3 looks like it could have some pretty interesting new IP's dropped as well as new technologies for both the 360 and the PS3. With rumors of both Sony and Microsoft introducing new motion controls which rival if not surpass Nintendo's Wiimote it should be entertaining. After all Sony and Nintendo are side by side this year at the convention. I'm actually curious if that was intentional on the part of Sony to rub Nintendo's face in it given that Sony has been releasing pretty snarky reports as of late berating Nintendo and Microsofts systems and ability to relate to their consumers.

Add to that the new Kojima project that is getting announced and the teaser site that he's had going for a week now hyping it. Not sure if it'll be MGS5 or some other sequel like a new Zone of the Enders.

But regardless of what happens the convention itself is back to some of its old form with a more open floor plan, a central location, access being granted to 10's of thousands of people, and a shit ton of money getting wasted on displays and hype.

Anyone have any predictions on what they think will hit at this E3? New games, big announcements, fuck-ups?

So I was a big fan of both the games Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on the Playstation 2 just given their art direction and their game mechanics and when I first heard rumors of the upcoming sequel (Or continuation of the story line...Not sure if it'll be in the same universe, a prequel, a sequel, ect..) I got psyched.

Finally some footage of the game running is up and out there and it looks stunning and very familiar to anyone whose played these games before.

What are your opinions on the game?
