Leadership can be classified in many ways, from theory x, y, and z, to the four squares of personality, even to the task behavior/relationship behavior road. But the main one i will center on in this lecture is theories x, y, and z.


Starting simple: Theory X is the pessimistic view of the world poured into leadership. Theory X people think 1. Most people are lazy.
2. People are not ambitious.
3 people do not want responsibility,
4 people prefer to be directed.
5 people are not creative problem solvers.
6 people are motivated at only the physiological and security levels.
7 most people must be controlled or coerced to accomplish organizational objectives.
As you can see Theory X is controlling, disciplined, demanding, and inadaptable. Theory X has its benefits though. No matter what task is assigned, it almost always gets done, and when it doesn't it can directly be pinned on the workers or followers.


Theory Y. Theory Y is optimistic and places great faith in Humanity and in society.
Theory Y believes most people...
• will work under favorable conditions
• Are self driven to accomplish organizational goals.
• are more productive when they are not micromanaged
• are creative problem solvers
• Are motivated at the physiological, security, social, esteem, and self-actualization levels.
• Can be self-directed and creative if properly motivated.


Theory Y is what the people want, not what they need. Theory Y caters to the natural man and basic desires rather than the reaching out to touch the furthest goals. It does however keep followers from breaking under stress or ceremony, unlike theory x



Theory Z. Theory Z is both X and Y, Alternating between the two based on the situation and the needs of the people weighed against the needs of the whole. Theory Z is adaptable, acceptable, and generally welcomed.



Now that we have cleared that up, Lets take a look at our dearly beloved president, Barack Husain Obama. Obama Is as far as we have seen STRICTLY THEORY Y. He caters to the people, attempting to put out surplus, paying for the uninsured's healthcare, and spreading tales of how everything is getting better. While this style of leadership (theory Y) may make us feel better, does it actually solve our problems? No, it does not solve our problems. It puts the American people even further into debt. We need a man, or a woman, to tell us the cold hard truth. Someone to say "The economy is failing, and its our fault. Stop selling stocks, don't make hasty investments, try to pay off debts NOW."

If Obama were to switch to be an X, people would panic. A slap to the face of the nation would create hysteria and panic, rather than the intended order and discipline. Personally i believe that if you put a roman legionarre, A fencer, and a atarashii naginata in an arena, the legionarre would win. The standard roman soldier has a single pilum, a scutum (the shield) and his gladius. The pilum would take out the atarashii bogu and make complex naginata movements impossible without taking the time to completely remove his or her armour. 1. Never fucking stab. the other person can disarm you, or if you do kill stab them, they can still fight back and you'll be without a knife. It is instead better to cut and slash, making small or large cuts using wrist movements.

2. Never reach out your arm that does not have the knife when you begin. This is just asking for the other person to attack it.

3. don't block edge on edge, for christ's sake, you'll screw up the blade's sharpness.

4. do not try and grab the other persons wrist to block them. They will still be able to cut your hand while you hold theirs.

5. Whenever possible, wrap your arm in between joints to block their attack.
