has anyone ever heard of this? it is supposedly the hottest burning fuel in the world, its chemical formula is NC4N, it burns at about 9000 degrees Fahrenheit, anyone have any more info about this? or know how it can be synthesized, or obtained?

Supercritical CO2

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but i figured the most qualified people to answer this question would be here. Ok i plan to do some experiments with supercritical CO2(co2 that has properties of both liquid and gas at the same time, used as a nontoxic organic solvent). What i want to do is two main things, attempt to make aerogel (all liquid is removed from "wet" silica gel while keeping the crystal structure, creating the lightest solid known, is is approx: 99.98% air), and isolate caffeine from coffee(supercritical CO2 dissolves caffeine and alot of other alkaloids, and is nontoxic and safer than other solvents). So here is my question: Does anybody have a way i can obtain liquid CO2, i know how to make a pressure vessel to turn liquid CO2 into its supercritical state but i need an easy way of transferring the liquid CO2 in the take to the pressure vessel, anyway i can put a regulator on a paintball CO2 tank and use that? I have a CO2 tank, all it needs is a regulator and adapter for the piping i will need to use.

Not sure how much sense this all made but ask any questions, i will answer to the best of my ability and i would appreciate all the help i can get.

PS: I know i haven't been on for a long time, but i plan to be on alot more

ok so there is this bridge near my town that me and a few friends want to jump off of into water of course, i did some calculations (see bellow). the bridge is 160 feet high(49 meters) here are my calculations for time falling and the speed you will hit the water from top of bridge:

height = 49 meters
gravity = 9.8 m/s

height = .5 * 9.8 * time^2

49 = .5 * 9.8 * t^2
49 = 4.9 * t^2

10 = t^2

3.1 second fall

velocity = 9.8 * time

= 9.8 * 3.1

= 30.38m/s = 67 miles per hour

how does that look? did i do those calculations right?

ok now i also calculated for the support pillers(there is a ladder you can climb down to get to them them):

height = 27 meters
gravity = 9.8 m/s

27 = .5 * 9.8 * t^2
27 = 4.9 * t^2

5.5 = t^2

2.3 seconds

velocity = 9.8 * time

= 9.8 * 2.3

= 22.5 m/s = 50 miles per hour

how does that one look? is it correct?

if it is correct will this be a safe jump? i know the water is deep bellow so that isn't a problem. what is it like hitting water at those speeds?

i am looking for people that know physics well because i clearly don't

here is a little project i am working on, and i am having some problems, i am new to C programming and i am trying to custom make my own control board for a paintball gun, right now i am starting out simple, just with a programmable firing speed, i am using an attiny2313 avr microcontroller, when i program it(the code compiles, but it needs fixed) all it does it turn the fire_indicator led on, so can anyone help me??

here is proof that the jolly roger is full of shit sometimes, a few things seem reliable but this is bullshit, i quoted this directly from The Anarchist Cookbook(the actual book)

i have been thinking about making some HMTD and i have a few questions about it: how sensitive is it, compared to acetone peroxide? can it be stored(i know its not safe to store explosives just wondering)? how does this synthesis look to you:

Ingredients:

2.5 teaspoons of Hexamethylenetetramine(spelling?) - solid fuel tablets(sold at camping stores and army surplus stores) - i will call it hexamine in the tutorial

90ml of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% - drug stores (disinfectant)

4.5 teaspoons of Citric Acid - drug and food stores, sometimes called "sour salt"

Equipment:
container: i recommend glass but plastic should work
1 teaspoon measuring cup
1/2 teaspoon measuring cup
refrigerator
time
patience

Procedure:

1. Slowly dissolve the hexamine into the hydrogen peroxide
2. Cool the solution for 30 minutes in the refrigerator
3. Dissolve the Citric Acid into the peroxide hexamine soluton
4. Let it sit in the refrigerator till solid particles form at the bottom of the container(this will take 8 - 24 hours)
5. Filter the crystals with a coffee filter and wash them with water
6. Let them dry in a COOL dry place

heated. When the frothing begins, adjust heat.

3. As soon as you see no more tear gas
being generated, and solids
begginging to be formed in the generating flask (No. 3), or a
brown
residue in the tube (No. 6), remove the heat source, �With your gas
mask on�, and
pour out the residue in flask. You must pour this outside.
�Do not pour down sink or
toilet.�

4. Remove collecting jar (No. 17) and stopper it QUICKLY. What you have

collected here is tear gas.

5. Do not attempt to make more than three ounces at one
time.

6. Make sure all joints are tight.

The best method for putting tear gas into operation is to place it under pressure in a glass vial or
bottle. Then throw the bottle at the target you have in mind. The glass will break on contact (NOOO
SHIT) and allow the tear gas to escape. Other successful methods have been proven, including
compressing in an atomizer, aerosol can, or seltzer bottles.

i made this program a while ago in vb6 it uses the mswinsock to connect to the server on a local or remote computer. it does nothing destructive but, it will freeze the mouse, make it go crazy, swap the mouse buttons, hide the start menu, shutdown, restart, logoff, open, close the cd drive, and it was suppose to hide the mouse too but it doesn't work

Sodium Disulfite Uses??

i got Sodium Disulfite when i was looking for potassium nitrate as a stump remover. its called "stump out" and i looked up the msds for it and it says its Sodium Disulfite are there uses for this besides removing stumps (maybe pyro uses??)

will this method work for distilling H2O2 i found it a while ago online:

you take 3% H2O2 and mix it with salt at a 1:4 ratio 1 being salt and 4 being H2O2, and it separates into two layers 1 being H202 and the other being salt water. is this true??

Nitration Menthod

i know you can nitrate with sulfuric acid/nitric acid but are there other ways i have heard sulfuric acid/potassium nitrate and sulfuric acid/ammonium nitrate would these alternatives work (i can't find nitric acid anywhere)

PS: i plan on making nitroglycerin, RDX and nitrocellulose

Erythritol tetranitrate

has anyone here ever heard of Erythritol tetranitrate. i was just reading about it on wikipedia and it is a secondary or booster explosive. i also read how to make it on another site(i will add the recipe as soon as i find it again). is it safe??

UPDATE:
here is the recipe i found:

Materials required
KNO3
95% H2SO4
Erythritol

Procedure:
Add 60g of KNO3 to 100ml of H2SO4 and cool it to 10�C. Add 15g Erythritol in portions and allow the temp to jump between 10-20�C with each addition. Leave the mix for 15min after last addition. The mix, now thick with crystals is poured into 2 litres water, a very fine precipitate will form and float to the bottom. The solution is filtered and added to a further 2 litres of bicarbonate (baking soda) / water solution, filtered again. This is repeated again with water and filtered.
