1) The KNO3 + Sugar takes very long to take effect on the stove, like an hour. Heat too low? I don't want to go to high on heat for obvious safety reasons.

2) When i light it it's more like a firebomb, it literally bursts into flames, and yes smoke comes out but not like a smoke bomb for a long period of time. Instead it just bursts into flames and stays on fire for a long time. From what i've seen on Youtube this isn't normal, and instead it should just be smoke coming out. (I used a tin can and lots of layers of duct tape, and also used a paper towel roll and lots of layers of duct tape)
