I'm still a bit perplexed as to why far more people voted "yes". I mean come on, we supposedly live in an advanced society, yet so many live about as sick and famished people. They are never even given a chance to participate in advancing our species, for they are just too busy trying to survive as it is. It's great how a select few live in the upper crust of society and could give a damn for the well being of everyone else.

I thought you were talking about our society as a whole, not individual parts. I'm sure any society different from ours (somewhere out there) have the same problem with the big gap between people who make a difference and people who don't. I don't think that has anything to do with how advanced we are.

Well I am in a way, because society IS a group of people who are interdependent of eachother. Why can't we just stop with this pointless competition for money, and just grow up and work together? Remember, its better to act as one, as it sure gets things done more efficiently.

A civilization isn't advanced if it can't overcome some of its deepest emotion and mental issues, and that's one of them.

Sorry you misunderstood, I meant that the fact we don't care for each other shows that we still aren't advanced.
A Class III society would still have problems, but it would have had to overcome petty issues such as race and religion in order to organize an entire system of galaxies.
We still go around shooting at each other because that guy wears a different kind of hat than the next.

Even if a Class III civilization had problems, it still would have millions of years of evolution, giving it plenty of time to keep these to a minimal.
