Does anyone have any idea on letting ( 5g E , 5g I , 2g RP) refluxed in a 500ml round bottomed flask more than 60 - 75 minutes?
And will i get crystals of meth HI in the condenser like they appear in the photo ?

first off you need more i and rp... at 5 e you would run about 6-7 i and at least 3 rp..... a good rule of thumb is 3-2-1 ii-e-rp but thats an old one suitable for larger batches of chili. swim used to use 2-1.5-1 with good results. problem is that with smaller batches youll have to increase the rp to insure complete conversion. so youre 5 scenario.... go 7-5-4 .... as for the reflux time.... as youre not refluxing it doesnt matter. youre dreaming about a chili recipie... in this dream yu will not have shiny shards from the meth fairy... no, youll have a bunch of goo that will need to be filtered, based, and salted..... no clue... then stop what youre doing before you hurt someone.....

as for time theres the long wet reaction 12 hours up to 24
and the short dry...45-60 min...

depends on the amount of water yopu put in it... a couple of drops or a capful.
long wet is the best. but not by much..... purify and theres no difference.

First of all, thanx alot will9393 for the "7-5-4" trick . i thought 3:3:1 was the right one..the only thing that i didnt get is (as for the reflux time.... as youre not refluxing it doesnt matter.) do u mean i shouldnt reflux ? or ?

The picture in which there are shiny shards of crystals on the condenser is from a (13 ii; 10 e; 4 rp) cook, so u mean with (7;5;4) i wont see any white stuff on the condenser? i know theyr not meth hcl & they do need to be filtered (RP), based (NaOH) and salted (HCL) as u mentioned.

For the refluxing time, im dreaming to use 5mls of DH2O for the 7;5;4 w/ Allihn condenser on top. What do u think about that ?

The more water in the rxn the more you have to get rid of during clean-up, but it's not gonna hydrolyse, so if you're worried, a little extra won't hurt.
