weed how do u tell male from female

whats the earliest u can tell?

What I do is wait til the plant has a few branches, and I cover one branch wit construction paper and take it off at certain times so it gets only 12 hours of sunlight a day for about 4 weeks. (times will vary at different places, or else I'd give you the times of day to put it on and take it off) After the 4 weeks, the branch will either have very small white things (called pistils) coming out of it at some spots. The males will have little ball things coming out of it. (I suggest using a 30x magnifying [sp?] glass to spot them.

If it has the pistils coming out of it, it's a female plant. If it has the ball things, it's a male plant.
