I have read alot of threads on this site that say that eating fermented fruit peels and toothpaste will make you trip out. This all stems from the fungus that grows on the orange peel called ergot. this fungal bacteria contains some of the alkaloids that make up LSD, however they are not chemically equivalent. one thing that is closely related to this ergot fungus is gangrene. messing around with these orange peel recipes can cause serious problems, or even kill you. i hope you guys all take this seriously. have fun but be safe

Ergot does not contain LSD. All ergot does is scrunch your blood vessels up like they've been clamped and smash you out into convulsions.

You're an idiot. gangrene is flesh death caused by loss of blood flow and oxygen, stemming from many different bacteria, viruses or simple physiological conditions. Gangrene is a symptom, not a disease. Ergot is not the same as gangrene, however it can cause gangrene.
