It's good that people are thinking about polar and non-polar, but you're jsut skipping out on a few little points. Mainly, anhydrous vs hydrous solvents, and protic vs aprotic solvents.

What you need is to look up the pill and find out exactly what the actives and inactives are. Straight adderal and other generics contain dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate monohydrate, dextroamphetamine sulfate and amphetamine sulfate. In terms of inactives they run up a pretty straightforwards list: gelatin, titanium dioxide hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, methacrylic acid copolymer, opadry beige, sugar spheres, talc, and triethyl citrate. Of these, the biggest worry is methylcellulose - It's a real motherfucker because it has a reversed temperature/solubility curve. In cold water it dissolves and forms a thick gel, in hot water it precipitates out. So remember that when you're using hardware store hydrous acetone, and trying to figure out how come your freeze-precipitation just gooked up your filter paper with some kind of white bitter snot. What you need to look up is dual-solvent recrystallisation.

Saccharate... As in Equate? Sweet and low? In other words "Artificial"? I understand what you mean is basically this : Adderall being a pharmaceutical means the amphetamine HCl has been restricted to a certain degree. Being HCl you need to free it somehow and them restrain the HCl by itself?

... That's not what dextro means at all.

Dextro refers to which optically-rotated stereoisomer you have. Many organic molecules have a left and right handed version, chemically identical but mirror images of one another in terms of structure. One will fit onto receptos, the other won't, so they often have very different effects. Dextro (left handed) and levo (right handed) are the two terms use, nothing at all to do with methyl or 'anti-methyl', whatever that means.

Ok, so dextro being 'levo' as I understand it equals to be a mirror image of something good. Hence... The need for purification. As I understand adderall being a pharmaceutical medicine which contains up to 30mg of either : (am-FET-a-meen/DEX-troe-am-FET-a-meen) this is how they instruct to pronounce adderall. If you look at a vicks nasal inhaler it says desoxyephedrine (lev-met-amfetamine) I've never tried but with this knowledge I'm assuming someone could use the same method of extracting purified desoxy to adderall and end up with pharmaceutical crack.

desoxyephedrine is the mirror image to Dextroamphetamine. It's a stimulant, but only like a thousandth the effectiveness of amphetamine. Unfortunately, you can't just flip one to become the other without breaking down the structure, oxidising certain groups out and then reducing it again in the correct alignment. Too much effort for too little return.
