Nirvana is Grunge, and i'd maybe go as far as Hard Rock... depending.

But hell no not punk at all.

I'm not a big punk fan, but with my current knowledge, I'd guess Danzig as the father of punk? Misfits? same thing..

most of it is grunge but there is some hard rock in there.
nirvana, alice in chains and pearl jam were three of the most famous grunge bands out there once.

No fucking way is Nirvana the "Father of Punk". The Fathers of Punk are prolly The Germs, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, and Black Flag. These bands were out in the late 70's and early 80's wayy before Nirvana.
