Greenday is not punk. How many actual punk bands have you seen playing on fucking MTV? As for breaking down barriers in the 90's, what the fuck did they say that was so revolutionary? Minor Threat had the sXe movement which I sort of follow (just cigs for me). Crass had the anarcho-crust punk movement down. GG Allin had the completely fucking insane thing down. I hate to say it, but the hayday of punk ended in 1986. Don't get me wrong, there are some good newer bands (Aus Rotten, Leftover Crack, The Casualties). Saying Greenday is punk is as disgusting as saying Hot Topic is punk. Oh and Anti-Flag is not a punk band. They are fucking sellouts who went and signed with a major label, throwing their former beliefs to the curb for a handful of corporate silver. I'm done ranting now.
