you do relize that green day was one of the original bands from the early punk rock movement in the 90's??

they can suck all you want, but you can't deny that they all broke the barries in more than one way

what barriers? what did they sing about that hadent already been sung about.

honestly i like their early work, i wont deny it.

all billie joe can play is power chords, the drums are as simple as most punk music, and the bass, well Mike is pretty good, not the best but still good.

yeah they are one of the original punk bands from the 90's, along with how many others?

Wasn't the 90's all about the grunge movement? Like Nirvana and such? Punk seemed to be earlier than that.

dude, punk kindda went underground after the fall on 88 then what bands like green day pennywise fugazzi the offspring and even bad religion made a huge comeback

and what about the unseen and the casualties and and anti-flag

im pretty sure those bands are punk rock, the punk movement that began in the early seventies just went more hidden thats it

but it is still there, i concider grunde a sub-culture of punk

I don't consider it that. I consider it a form of rock. That's usually why people call it "grunge rock." Sort of like Alternative and such.
Also, I'm not really into punk music. Green Day was good (key word 'was') but I have to agree with Superfly. They're more pop now.
