This is good thread but you really can't compare the N64 to the Xbox 360 or the PS3.
You should refine it, to just the console of the time.
For example, The N64 was the best of its time (Especially graphics wise). But if you compare it with graphics from the Xbox or PS then it's just a whole other generation of video games.

So if I had to pick the the best consoles I would choose:
- N64 (I loved that old thing, mine still works!)

Then for a more modern console:
- Xbox 360. It did have overheating problems and the RROD, but microsoft fixed that now, plus it has the Halo series (especially Halo 3)

PSX can hold a lot more information than the N64. It can even hold more than the 64DD.
PSX uses a memory card so if you rent the game you do not have to rent the same copy each time.
PSX games are usually cheaper than N64 games.
PSX has been on the market longer, and thus can be considered more popular
The 64DD will be about $200 U.S.!
PSX can play audio CDs.
Some games made for the PSX or Sega Saturn cannot be converted into N64 format.
Sony has attracted many game companies (Square, Capcom, etc.) to their PSX system.
PSX can use CG sequences
Their new controller has basically two Rumble Paks in them (Dual Shock) and two analog controllers. The Dual Shock controller uses no batteries (unlike the Rumble Pak) and does not weigh the controller down.

Sure you have mario going from 2d to 3d but the psxs has such influential games metal gear solid, grand turismo 2, FF7, the list goes on and on.


Microsoft hasnt fixxed RRoD, i got it 3 times before i just sold my 360. The halo series isnt enough just to same one system is the best. Halo is for faggots.

You realize you are comparing consoles with over 10 years between them?
The graphics, gameplay, speed... well everything is different.

When did you buy your 360?
It might not be enough, but it's sure as hell a large contributing factor.

I got my 360 a few weeks after launch.

Nintendo has a long history of good games on all of their consols. Microsoft did ok with Xbox and the 360 is awesome, just to many hardware flaws that they do not fix.

well my ps3, even though I know there aren't that many games for, is the most awesome thing I have bought in quite some time. and it runs so perfectly, I have not once encountered a problem, and all I really need is my COD4

Thats the problem with Xbox: 360, one hardware failure after the next it seems. At least thats what they say. Its cool the ps3 is more stable.

I've only heard of one hardware problem? What others are you guys talkin about?
