wtf... do you use a fucking hammer to get it off?
If you just use pliers (or better yet, use some thin bladed snips and just cut the metal needle that goes into the security tag), you will probably not get anything on you. If you are so concerned/unskilled, place duct tape around the area with paper towels overtop of that and use some disposable latex gloves. If you don't want to duct tape the product, just duct tape some paper and put it around the tag.
P.S. you are a fucking retard. I work in a department store. whenever one of the cashiers forgets to take off the tan dye tag, the security towers go off. when you bring the product over to the cash and take it off and they bring it back through, guess what happens? the towers will not go off.
Want more proof? I put one of the dye tags on my manager's keychain a couple months ago and it went off. Might just be Canada, but i've yet to see someone walk out with one of those and have the towers not go off.
And those magnetic strips, yeah, easy shit to take off/get demagnetized.
