The origin of consciousness and the breakdown of the bicameral mind by Julian Jaynes

Nation of Rebels-Why counterculture became consumer culture by Joseph Heath & Andrew

Where we Stand-Class Matters by Bell Hooks

Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa puff by Chuck Klosterman

These are all pretty interesting most of my bookshelf is full of Social Science and Cultural Studies stolen from Barnes & Noble.

That is the section you should check out for... eye opening books.

Everybody Poos. Great read, looking it up. Especially if you can actually extract a metaphor out of it,

Hey, i know im new to this so you probably don't respect me, but:

1. Oryx and Crake by Atwood: brilliant novel about human extinction, set in the future, where corprocracy is king and everything is bioengineered..

2. On the Beach by Nevil Shute: As the world lays ravaged by a nucleur WWIII, australia, who did not participate or be bombed, waits for death to come slowly by means of radioactive nucleur winds.

3.The Plague, Camus: A classic

4. The Road by Cormac McCarthy: bleak, wonderful story.

5. The Cloud Atlas

And read John Stuart Mill...

that should help you hibernate this winter. -caroline

A really good book i think everyone should read is Scar Tissue. Its an autobiography from the main singer of Red Hot Chile Peppers and its all about his life. Very interesting
