Education

Who here is furthering their education? What are some of your view points on specific subjects of this countries current education system. What things would you like to see change? And what are some things you personally would be interesting in studying to further your education.

I personally think our education system is fucked up. Having to pay as much money as we do for college is ridiculous. It's like having to pay money to relearn half of the shit you've already be taught. I don't think our education system sucks or anything, but the cost is far too much. I would like to see a change in that, making it easier for people that are "unadvantaged" to get accepted into college.

Some things I personally would like to study in my search for a higher education are: Economics, Chemical engineering, Physical Chemistry, Quantum physics, Physics..., Statistics, Analytical chemistry, ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, and many many many many other things. =D

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!! I WANT YOUR OPPINIONS HERE!!!

I think the teachers suck, which makes the learning system suck at highschools. honestly. this isn't just some 15 year old guy saying he hates all teachers because one faild me on a math test. I think the teachers don't do their job good. they don't TEACH people right. I've been all over (alot of parts of Wisconsin, cali, few different parts of Virginia, Florida, different parts of Michigan, etc, etc...), and it's not just here, it's everywhere. I don't think thi is a NEW problem, but it seems like it's getting worse. Teachers handing a giant packet and saying "do pages 1 and 2 by tmarrow or I'll fail you" is not teaching. hardly compares.

Teachers, principles, office people, etc... all they do is threaten to call the cops 24/7. they whine and bitch about how one student did something (and usually they over react and over exaggerate), and all they can do is set them in the office and threaten them. if the teachers can't keep their students under control, and sending them to the office when they do something so small as whisper in "learning time" in class, then the teachers aren't teaching, the student isn't learning...

I, personally do not go to a public school *anymore, and that's why. and I have been to more then one school. my last school, they threatened to call the cops on me for putting nail glue on my hands (it was during the little 15 min. break we had between lunch and class) and they said they were gonna start calling the cops because that was "out of control." I know, no one would ever dream of doing something so extreme, I mean, damn...
my input, there you have it. point is that teachers usually don't do their job right...

I'm not sure if this was exactly what you're looking for, but you said you wanted out opinions. XD

but seriously, it pisses me off...

exactly what I was looking for, good job palm3r. I was talking more about college education but highschool is a major issue as well. You obviously go to a public school. The public school system, I agree, is fucked. The teachers are under payed, which makes them unmotivated, and they lose their interest in actually teaching people something useful. The school I attend is a charter school. So it is pretty small. Probably about 100 highschoolers, and like 10 teachers. They are all really smart, open minded teachers, that actually do their job for the reason of actually helping someone by teaching them, which is what education is about. The classes are smaller, which makes it easier to learn, and not get lost in crowds of people. Public schools are over crowded, don't get enough money from the state, and have unprofessional teachers. NICE POST PALM3R !!!! =D

YAY!
I don't go to public school anymore. I stopped going just a little while ago.
but yeah, I do think it's a major flaw in public schools. (yes, I see your edit reason now)
