The thing about time is that it is not light it is merely the dimension through which all matter travels. Light is actually a vibration of the fifth dimension. KonaClump had the right idea but the wrong metaphor, let me see if I can produce a more efficient one; Lets say you remove an animal from an environment that relies on it, with the animal gone whatever niche it filled will be filled by another animal, that will change the habits of that animal and thus every other animal that previously interacted with this animal before long the entire environment has changed to fill the void left by you removing the fist animal.>>>>>> To better explain what Rasta meant by the time paradox he stated I will present my own; The grandmother paradox which you should of all heard of states that if you were to go back in time and find your grandmother as a young girl and kill her before she had your mother or father then you would never be born so thus you could not go back in time in the first place to kill your grandmother, here is an interesting thought, so if it is impossible to kill your grandmother them what would happen when you shoot her with a gun? would the time line split to accommodate the new event or would the fabric of space time unravel plunging you into an empty void?
About the grandmother/grandfather affect. When I was baked I heard about this. I thought about it like this. You go back and kill your great great great grand father (doesn't matter how great) and nothing you notice wierd happens. You have a kid and you actually find you are your real great great great grand father. I don't know if I explained that right but it's my thoughts on the subject of that.

In order for you to be your own great great great grandfather, you would need to go back in time and fuck your great great great grandmother.

Yeah but at that time she wouldn't be your great grand mother.
But nevermind she would. Cuz your blood would be your blood mixed with hers along a long line of family and back to you again and your fucking your own family again. I call that the incest theory lol.

But do you get what I mean. Like if it happens that way your the one that actually starts your family name or some shit like that.

There is one problem with your assumption, If you in fact go back in time and kill your great^10 grandfather and have sex with your great^10 grandmother you would do the same thing as what I had previously stated; 1st> Your nastification of the past would create a time loop in which you would continuously return to the past to do the dirty deed, in other words you would be born in the future and grow until the age in which you traveled to the past and then travel back to the point at which it all began and repeat it for eternity. 2nd> You would create an entirely new line of descendants in which you yourself would not exist so thus you could not commit the dirty act in the first place. 3rd> Your traveling to the past would create another time line in which you would in fact be you own great^n grandfather and reality as you once new it would no longer exist in the present of the new time line. Does that explain it in great enough detail?

I agree with that, but I have one problem. What would happen to your current state? Would you cease to exist right after you killed your grandpa or would you cease to exist when the next person in your family line was supposed to be born?

If you killed your grandfather you would either like you stated "cease to exist" because you would destroy you chances of being born or the time line would split creating a two different realities in which you would kill your grandfather in one and the other time line from which you came would stay the same. Once you killed your grandfather you would be automatically transported to this alternate reality but you would not notice any differences except for now you are your own grandfather^n, and this time line would begin with the death of your grandfather all other events that took place in history after the death of your grandfather would change as well. Now in the case that you didn't kill your grandfather and instead made it to where you were the one your grandmother marries you could theoretically be your own grandfather^n without the ramifications of time paradoxes, "theoretically," but this would be very improbable. Does that help?
