Does anyone else out there wonder at the morality of various violent means of achieving a political end. An example would be the use of beheadings of westerners to encourage the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. This seems barbaric and indeed it is. But is it worse than the use of cluster bombs, tanks, helicopter gun ships, machine guns, grenades mortars or any other means of killing people, used by our own governments to achieve their political ends.
It could be argued that beheading is far more moral because, first of all the target has been identified before the killing. Unlike cluster bombs or mortars, there is no risk of "collateral damage". No child is accidently going to be killed. Secondly, due to the intensive media coverage of these events, the impact of one single death is far greater than that of perhaps dozens of people killed in a much less personal manner, so "value for money" is much higher. The death of one person could achieve that of killing a thousand soldiers.

THe United States had Phosphorus banned in bombs, but they go use it in Iraq, and a bunch of other things. The thing is, I rather be killed quick then get my head cut off... My opinion of the United States goes up and down, I don't like the fact there are children are getting killed along with innocent people... But seriously I don't trust the Middle East, imagine them in a high power situation, we would all be wearing hijabs (women) and treating them like children. Along with no sex or see any boobs until you're married.

I agree with you i disagree with the murder of women, children, and innocent citizens but beheading is torturous and immoral as well. I would rather stay here were im at and not be blown to shit or beheaded.

You both neglect to remember that those "innocent" children are being bred to worship overbearing and unbelievable gods.

The way I see it is that more then 75% of Middle Eastern countrys hate white people no matter where they are from, and a white person hates a Middle Eastern, they have a riot, where I am attending school, were not allowed to put up the Christmas tree anymore or decorations because "they feel left out", no that's not it, they want to "convert" us to their own so we celebrate Jihad with them (sarcasm about Jihad). Canada is white mans land, whites fought and died for it, we will own it, not by some Arab person who says he/she is left out when we have open arms to letting anyone be "Western".

I agree with you there but not all are like that. I would shoot a child or woman in the head if they were going to pick up a gun and fire at me, or even attempt to blow themself up.

Yes i can see the point in that however to say they are worshiping the wrong god is a belief and is good that your faith is (or maybe isnt) strong but personally im religiously tolerant and the qu'ran isnt about jihad its about peace and obediance to god (allah).

No, what I am saying is, that if they want to "fit in" then celebrate Christmas... There is this family that changed to Christians, their family stopped talking to them because of it, pretty pathetic... And I don't belive in one religion.

It is the human minds' explanation for where existence goes after death. What the brain cannot concieve, it compensates with false hopes due to unrequited truths.

It just so happens that so many people join these cults, that it is a force that will not be eradicated from the minds of the average person until 1. Death is overcome 2. Minds evolve to a level that people understand the realization of science 3. People are educated on the proven correlations of science that disprove religion and spirtuality.
