Yes, those shootings happened at Virginia Tech, approx. 8 mins. up the road from my school, Radford University. There are several hundred Virginia State Police, and displaced students from Tech wandering around my campus, reeling from this disaster.

My childhood friend, Derek O'Dell (some of you probabaly saw him on the news) was a victim. We grew up together playing soccer. He is also the long time boyfriend of one my sister's closest friends. He was wounded in the arm, and watched several of his classmates, and his professor shot execution style through the head. Just from watching his interview, I can tell that he is no longer the same person he was, and that is depressing.

It's very sad the next post on this thread was saying they deserved it. Just proves to me how much immaturity and desensitation lurks on this site.

N2O: Guns are bad, and the wrong people shouldn't have them...but take away guns from the mass, and they ONLY people who have them will be the wrong ones...pretty scary huh?

All this has shocked me so much, and I believe it is my time to distance myself from this site. I can only hope that those of you who are sick enough to say things that are anything but supportive of those who lost their lives today will never be in a situation such as that, and I hope that you grow THE FUCK UP.

the gunman was simply a broken person , he either got picked on and couldent take it any more , or he was just weak of mind, either way he deserved more than just getting shot. he should have been captured and publicly killed without mercy to set an example for any other idiots out there to see the reaction to such stupidity and cowardace
