The overall (common knowledge, mind you) reason for teenage rebellion against their parents/society/authority is based on hormonal change in the brain that brings a child-turned-teenager their first experiences of freedom, and self-awareness (being an individual).

To go in depth, the brain secretes hormones that create thought on who the individual in question is, and who they will become. These "experiments" that the brain submits involve high-risk, and challenging situations in which the individual presents themself in a manner that they think is feasible. Most of the time, the result of the situation provokes lasting memory, and defines how the individual will handle a similar situation in the future. Repeated trials often filter out the more wreakless patterns of thought in the past, and eventually become more rational. This process will eventually produce an adult who thinks for themselves based on their past experiences, and does not act with such rebellious fervor.

Not only is this process based on hormonal change, but is also provoked by a teenagers fear of the unsheltered adult world, which happens to be much larger, and much more intimidating than the individual's previous experience of being taken care of by their adult parents. A teenage individual must find their place in the adult world, or be left behind. (The latter being a rare occurance, with the exception of mental disorder.)

A strange trend among child stars is a good example of this exception. Children who grow up in the eye of the general public are often forced into adult-like experiences at an age that is entirely to young for the brain to handle, and often ends in eventual suicide due to the inability to cope with life as a true adult.

I hope you get your jollies from that, you stupid fuck. You are a mere trial of unworthiness in my life, and I will stop it nothing to shut your mouth before you spill out anymore of your petty bullshit.

More information to come...

Supporting evidence?!

Try 3 1/2 years of stringent, unrelenting honors education, you fucking prick!

Go get an education yourself if you want evidence, I'm almost positive your lazy ass would never make it.

My question was about the effects of grouping not reasons for rebellion.

The effects of joining a group? Depends on the group, and what their "image" is.
