Security Idea

I had an idea so that an E-mail could never be intercepted. It goes like this.

Create an E-mail account. Then whoever you're going to be sending messages too, must know the username and password also. Then you can leave messages without sending them.
Ex Jimmy and Jane use the Gmail acc.
Jimmy logs in typed up an E-mail and saves it to Drafts
Jane logs in and reads the draft then deletes it, if she wishes to reply she writes up another draft.

To increase security you could use a cipher on the message such as the Ceasar Cipher (go three letters forward) that is only known to the users of the account. Since no messages ever go in or out they are never intercepted.

actually, Caesar cypher is typically 13 letters forward, not 3, by standard, tho you can use any amount forward you like, and it still would be a Caesar cypher

also, it still has to send the message over your internet connection. it's just like a post on this site, it has to be sent SOMEWHERE. the only security in this is that there's only one password to guess instead of two....

use a pubkey encryption algorithm on the message...something big....

i think SHA512 would suffice to be a big algo, but why go through the trouble when there is a thing called Hushmail.com ...

use the sha512 of the message to encrypt the message using a pubkey encryption algo?...definite assured predictable randomness, and the other party would know they decrypted the message properly when they encrypted it with sha512 and got the same key.....efficient.....YAY

Well I think you could use a mutually known matrix for encryption with two keys. Outside the borders would be a six letter word such as Tehran. Inside you would have six lines of six letters. 25 English letters and 0-9. The second key would start out like SHINRA, then you would type the rest of the alphabet excluding letters you've already used and then 0-9. That way S=TT H=EE etc.. And if you're really up for it change that into binary. Then change the two keys every time you use a matrix.

use mouse movements to generate random data to encrypt the message with.

ugh..what's that cypher you're ripping off...i cant remember what it's called...and it's really easy to break--ive done it by hand before...and BINARY IS NOT AN ENCRYPTION SCHEME. maybe if you were to change the binary value of each letter, but even then, that's just a substitution cypher with a larger character set (2^8, i believe, tho ive been having some simple math problems lately (oh so fun, im taking the sat's on saturday)), and that could be cracked easily all the same by monitoring the frequency of certain characters and doing comparisons......

reminds me of that error you had with an install once, "not enough entropy"

and yeah, random encryption for something that's gonna be decrypted is not a good idea. making the encryption key via that method is fine tho

hahahaha.. yeah, you use the CPU's entropy to run the encryption. fuck what was that for... hmm.. might have been Zend Studio...
