Pc Problems
I have this weired problem with my pc, it will randomly restart, it has no viruses
i recently reformatted it because it was getting bad, yet this problem persist.
its not like its slow, i have a gb of ram, and a 512 mb gpu unit, i don't think has anything to do with it. help is much appreciated

easy fix. take the cover off your tower. get hammer and tap (kinda hard for best results) your cpu a little its probably loose.

Sounds to me like a hard drive problem.
A friend of mine had a similar problem and it turned out it was his hard drive.

yeah, either that or your power supply is shitty. I had a '98 Compaq that did that and it was the power supply. how old is ur Comp?

it could be the power supply or any other component being faulty, some new computers have this problem too....it could also be a fault in the power management system in windows for your bios.......but i would assume the simplest case, a loose part, or a faulty power supply before going into trying to make windows work propperly with the bios to regulate power....when it restarts, does the light on the front go off?....

i meant like when it goes off, no logoff screen from windows, nothing like that, just immediately goes off, w/o any semblance of trying to shutdown, if this is the case, then more than likely, it's the power supply

Thats exactly what it does. now in your opinion how would you go about fixing this problem, I've checked all the wires and made sure everything was firmly connected so i was thinking along the lines of a new power supply, what do you think?
