I don't like *Ubuntu*, but I like *Kubuntu*. It's Ubuntu build on the KDE interface instead of GNOME. And it's nice, efficient on HDD/RAM, and super easy to use.

The only problem with Kubuntu is compatibility. Not many programs are willing to use Kubuntu over Ubuntu. My advice to you is to stick with Ubuntu.
