I bought an acer asperon 3960 with a burned hard drive. the computer was still under warranty so i got it replaced. but they didn't put an OS on it. I tried to install one but the bios are password protected. Does anyone know a master pass, or where the Cmos battery is so I can reset it?

you dont want to unplug the cmos battery on a laptop but if the pc has a cmos password you can look it up on google for cmos master passwords and there are upon hindreds of them depending on the hard drive you will have to try atleast 10of them. there are 5 trys before it locks up for fifteen min. you can still try but it wont tell you what kind of ass gave you a hdd without a os.

When the computer is booting up hit F2. If it asks you for a password then I'm sorry, but if it doesn't, go to security and change user password.

if it has a cmos passwd it wont boot up past that point for the f commands to work
