pick the lock or break it off, if its a padlock

If it's a newer masterlock, it won't work. The newer ones have a redesigned latch that will just wreck your shim. The same goes with some other brands of locks.

More impressive and quicker method to hack a lock, although electric picks trump this.

Unless you have a locksmith license, I am pretty sure that they are illegal to own all across Canada and will probably be held/stopped at the boarder when shipping.

You can make your own out of modding electric scissors.
