Turning a DVD into an mpeg or AVI file is DVD ripping.

that was a very ignorant statement.

So i propose this question.

If i have a .dda file and i convert it to a avi or mpeg have i just ripped a dvd?

i would like step by step instruction for puting a dvd in my laptop, and saving a changing the format so i can watch it on my ipod video

No goddamn it! If you ever go on Bittorrent and download a movie that's an AVI file it says it's a DVD rip. I have found DVD ripping tutorials and they all turn DVDs into mpeg or avi files.

But those fucking tutorials use like 20 pieces of software and are fucking complicated. Can we stop arguing and discuss how to put a DVD in your computers cd drive and turrn it into an avi or mpeg or ogm etc file!
I blame god for this argument, and no, he doesn't deserve his G capitalized.

Once you have turned it into an avi or whatever file, you need to convert into an mp4 file to put it on your psp or ipod. I have a link to a converter, if anybody knows any better ones post.
