Well those annoying whistling things(aka piccalo petes) as you so quaintly called them can very easily be turned into some decent exsplosives. This may go against this whole section as you are intentionaling damageing a potential exsplosive but here goes. Its as simple as wrapping it in tape(duct or electrical) and beating it with a hammer thuroughly. Then simply light it and get away and it exsplodes, fun to put in little 24 oz plastic bottles as it amplifies the sound.

you honestly dont need much imo.
i can get whatever where i am, but when i cant be bothered you just use the roman candles. you wrap electrical tape round the whole thing as tight as possible twice. then you clamp pliers at the end with the fuse and tape the pliers so they wont open up.. light the fuse and if youve done it right each shot in the candle will build up until the last one and then the pressure will build up until it all explodes and creates one fucking big explosion (bigger the better i use a 20 shot)
