ok, i'm gonna try to make a c4 detonator
my materials:
small pc board
several wires
power on indication led
on/off toggle
battery (3volt button batt.)
solder
soldering iron
and last a timer http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=family
no if i wired all these up would it work; would the battery generate enough heat; would i need a different battery

be specific!! ,oh and i know how to wire all of it up

i should suspect a small capacitor which builds up electricity, and then discharges when the timer goes off would be easier, and more effective, it's best not to have to rely on heat to set off an explosive when using a timer, as it will undoubtedly take more time for it to discharge than the timer....resulting in over calculations, and people get stupid and go up thinking it didnt work, only to realize it got delayed....

it shouldnt be too hard to figure out how to set that up.....

timer+electrically triggered switch hooked to where the alarm would be on the timer+cap which is set off by the electrically triggered switch upon the switch being triggered+charger for cap (could be a battery, or anything of the like, just has to charge it)+a bit of copper wire to stick into the explosive and jump a shock between upon the cap going off.....

im sure you can figure out how to rig that together.....

C4 is VERY inert.
Soldiers in vietnam used to take apart mines containing C4 and burn the compound under their camping stoves to cook their food.
Taking a flame to C4 will just make it combust.
You need a primary explosion from a sensitive compound like AP or HMTD.
The military used to use Hg Fulminates.
