Well i dont think you can make filliment with mercury seeing how its a lquid. I think your looking for mercury fulminate. Dissolve mercury in nitric acid and and to ethanol. Then add to cold water and MF with ppt out.

yeah bugger our school changed from mercury thermometers to stupid alcohol ones... and theres no labs anywhere near i live...

I heard you can get them from mercury switches in electronic devices but again im not sure where to obtain these switches.

Mercury is hard to come buy, simply because of it's extreme toxicity.

if you cant spell fulminate you shouldnt make it. it is rediculously sensitive and a small pile will go off if you poke it kinda hard.
