Thermite and water mixing questions

Ok, now i have seen the existing thread from a week ago. However it doesnt really answer the question.

I know what happens when thermite and water touch AFTER being lit. Ive seen thermite go underwater, ive seen it boil and blow water.

everywhere ive seen explains this and I get that.

What i want to know is what about a solution of thermite and water. I have 1" plastic shell balls, and im wondering if I could make a water based mixture. suppose 1 ounce of thermite and the rest is water. Put in a magnesium strip which would be hot enough to catch the thermite.

Would the water simply evaporate too quickly, or would it work out to make quite a big blast? I want something to be in effect a small grenade thats easy to make.

Or could we simply mix it with gasoline or oil or alcohol or something flammable?

In the other thread it seemed to suggest that the water would just evaporate, since underwater welding uses thermite.

The water will almost spontaneously evaporate leaving you with a very small thermite reaction. Also, you can use a sparkler instead of magnesium ribbon if you are running low.
