Ok, my mate has grabbed about 10 shotgun shells from his dads shed to give to me for free. i want to take the powder out of em, but i dont want to blow my face/hand/any body parts of me or anyone off. Whats The best way to do this?

Just pick the pellets out one by one, then you can easily reach the GP/BP in the shells.

Your dumb...the only way the shell will ignite is if...


1. You hit the primer hard enough to make it fire...

2. You add fire to powder...which always usually makes it...fire..

just cut em off at the very top, farthest away from the primer and just pour everything out then pull out the wadding and the powder comes out.

Well me and my dad reload shells a lot, and we've found that when we need to unload some cuz we did something stupid.... the only thing that'll realls set em off isfire or hitting the primer on something. what we do is pry apart the crimp (the fold at the top)and just pour out the bb's into a bowl or something, then get a pair of needle nose pliars and reach in and grab a flap of the wad and then all you've got left is the powder to pour out and after you do that, put the shell in a vice and use a hammer and screwdriver to set the primer off... it's always fun. It's better than sawing them cuz your less likely to spill powder. But honestly you can just buy 4 lbs of powder for like 20 bucks and thats about 2000 shells worth of powder......

im tempted to go over someone's house who does a lot of shooting of shotguns and take out the shot ((bb's)) to all of the shotgun shells i can find in his house....it would make for an interesting time watching him try to shoot targets and have no actual shot coming out of the shell......
