Idk the specifics.. but one of the kids in my engineering class made a rocket engine from potassium nitrate, corn syrup.. and some form of ____-cose... glucose maybe.... but it went like a bat outa hell and was very cool..

unitednuclear.com is sold out of potassium nitrate 99.9% of the time... ive waited for about a year and still have no luck with finding it in stock. you can use ebay but its illegal to get over a lb of it i think (what it says on unitednuclear) and i think you can get it from chemical stores n stuff.. my friend found a bottle of it at menards somehow a while back...

Yeah this stuff is call rocket candy perfect for ameteur rockets. Basically get 100 grams KNO3
50 grams pure cane sugar
18 grams cornsyrup
about 75 ml water

mix all solid chems together. Then add them to the water begin heating and slowly adding the corn syrup. once added let it cool. put it on a glass cookie sheet and place in the oven at about 250 degrees untill all water is removed then take it out and while still warm smoosh it into your tubes and apply nozzles.
