Question...

Ok, so I've just finished my first successful AXE bomb... It was cool but less than I expected...

Anyway, it blew the top of the can clean off (it made an impressive mushroom flame) and left a beautiful hole in the top, so I filled it roughly 2/3 full of lighter fluid, cut myself a piece of flat steel, and J-B welded the the hole shut with it. (J-B Weld obviously to avoid sparks)

Now, I was wondering for those who have tried something similar, if the lighter fluid will work. I feel like I could have used gas, but it's rather unstable.

Your opinions? I have to let the J-B Weld set up until tomorrow, so I'll know for sure then.

Thanks for any comments.

Today was disappointing...

So, the JB Weld was hardened, and I threw the homemade "grenade" into the fire full of hope that I'd get a neighborhood awakening explosion.

It might have been.

But, the piece of steel I used to seal it off was a back-plate from a vehicle brake, which is designed to melt when the brakes overheat. So naturally, when I threw it in the fire, it melted, letting the prssure out, and I got nothing but a bunch of fire.

My final attempt, I've just re-filled it, this time with gasoline, and sealed it with the JB Weld and a piece of Stop sign, which I cut myself from the road.

Tomorrow, I'll try again.

Well, I thought of that, since gas doesn't burn by itself (it's liquid). I filled it probably 1/3 full... so 2/3 of it will be fumes.

The only way I can get any kind of gunpowder would be from shotgun shells. And it would take a LOT of shells to fill that.

I figure if the JB weld will hold up good enough, the can will break apart before the steel piece up top. If I throw it in the fire it should hold long enough to build up a decent pressure from burning fumes, then burst. I really have no idea. I just started playing with this stuff a few days ago, so I don't know much about it.

I also found the top of the axe can today about 50 yards from where the can blew open.
