I was thinking of making an exploding arrow. Not from shotgun shells but from an arrow head made from nitroglycerin and sawdust in a mold. But before I truly start, I was wondering:

With enough force CAN a nitroglycerin and sawdust based solid explode on contact with something? I know it can easily explode in liquid form but what about when stabilized with sawdust?

ALL of the formulas in there do not work. In their formulas, either the chemicals have been changed or chemicals have been subtracted. In this case, chemicals subtracted.

Adding nitro to sawdust will only give you a bunch of nitro absorbed into sawdust. You need to add other chemicals. Look up dynamite, thats what you are really trying to make.

Use Acetone Peroxide, much more easy to obtain materials.

ur right, but sawdust is actually part of the equation. But i know now that its near impossible to detonate on contact with an object. Know anything that does explode on contact?

Nitroglycerin is much more powerful then Acetone Peroxide but Nitroglycerin is much more complex then AP.

Last questions. How much can 100 grams explode and does it explode on contact?

100 grams of AP?

Yes, and does it explode on contact with an object....

Properly confined AP, 100 grams is be able to blow your hand off.

It can explode on contact with enough force.
