Oxygen Driven Derby Car

ok this is very deadly but fun as hell.

What you need:
1) A bunch of oxygen tanks
2) At least one soap box derby car (more if you want to race friends)
3) A road with light traffic

if you have the money, fist buy a bunch of air tanks (or steal them). Once you have them, strap four evenly on to a soap box berby car (two tanks on each side) and get two cars so you and a friend can have a race. next, sit on top of your car and get a very heavy object and make it fall at the fire extigushers that way it will knock the nozzles. Now have someone light the oxygen that is now leaking out, and you and your friends will start truckin'!

make sure that:
(a) the fire extigushers are very, very sucure, because i had one fall off and hit a house (not a good experience),
(b) you can keep control of your vehicle (AKA, dont try to hook up 12 oxygen tanks at a time),
(c) you dont accidentaly brun someone who is watching/racing you,
(d) the cops dont catch you,and
(e) the tops of the fire extighusers are facing the opposite direction of your intended path because there are some stupid people on here.

oxygen is highly flamable....ever notice the sticker on the oxygen trucks? it says highly flamable......everything is flamable.....just your definition of flamable is that it bursts into flame when in contact with fire.....typically if it bursts into flame, it is incomplete combustion, and it will be unlikely to burn at temps as high as it could....ever notice that when you put out a candle, smoke comes off of it, but when it was burning, no smoke? the smoke is carbon (or atleast a carbon based thingy....it really depends on what you are burning), and it is released because there is not enough oxygen to support complete combustion, so it is left over......

well lets see last i heard when things burn they are combining oxygen. oxygen combines with alot of substances exothermically. I have pure oxygen bottles the oxygen doesnt burn. clark your an idiot you know nothing. The only other thing used as an oxidising agent is chlorine gas. Oxygen combines with a fuel creating an exothermic reaction. When you stick a match by propane the heat acts as a catalyst speeding up the reaction resulting in an exothermic reaction. When you heat a solid it turns to liquid heat it more and it turns to gas heat it more and it gains enough energy to combine with oxygen. If what you are saying is true then O2 will combine with more O2 creating enough energy to substane itself. Not gonna happen. Although with a highvoltage of DC current passing through the air O3 or ozone is created. All gases dont burn many gases such as helium, carbon dioxide, oxygen do not react exothermically with oxygen or chlorine.

I have an experiment for you all: take manganese dioxide from a battery add that to hydrogen peroxide it will fizzle. do the reaction in a glass flask, bottle, w.e. The resulting gas is pure oxygen. take a burning stick and put it in the vessle with the oxygen. Does the oxygen explode? No the stick burns with a very bright flame that is very hot.

hey i know your trying to be sarcastic but the reason why air isn't flammable is because air consist of humidity (thats water).
