For those people that dont know, Mischief night is a special occasion in England (mainly in the north) it is the day before Bonfire night ( Guy Fawkes, House of Parliment...) Anyway it is the night that people just cause general chaos on the streets, egging houses ( people ) broken glass behind tires, Suger in petrol tanks. Anyway, this year me and my mates wanna do something special, in the pyro department. There is an abandoned house on the end of my street and my friend got an asbo for tresspassing. So we want to blow it up. Or whats inside it. Any tips, ideas, or advice would be much appreciated.

You want to blow up a surburban house... as mischief?

For starters - The amount you'd require to bring it down (it doesn't have the sort of mass for an implosion) is enough high explosives to have you put in jail for a long, long time.

Secondly - Blowing up a house puts EVERYBODY within two blocks at least in a very real danger of overpressure and shrapnel, causing injury or death - Not to mention hearing damage. That there is another few dozen years.

Thirdly, you could never pull it off.

You must be stupid to do that. I agree with Ghost the house would not explode with anything less than high explosive detonated inside. And even if you knew what you where doing, you would need alot of illegal explosives exploding at the right locations at the right time to implode the house safely. Mischief night is fun, but your bieng stupid. For a simple explosive just tie a few disposable lighters together, take the flint and safety caps off leaving just the gas release cog. Twist until small amount of gas releases and light it! Run fast they are very unstable.

well you could make some pipe bombs by getting some legths of steel pipe with thread on the ends and get some threaded caps, drill a hole in one cap the size of you wick, cap one end with your undrilled cap, fill your pipe with gun powder or any other fast burning substance or any explosive material, cap that end and insert your wick. NOTE if you use gun powder you must be very carefull that none gets on the thread of the pipe or cap because when you go to screw the cap on it will probly detonate the bomb in your hands so i suggest you wipe it with a wet towel or even safer put the cap on and use a small funnel device to pour in your gun powder or similar. if you have a feeling the pipe will not explode and the blast will just shoot the wick out you could glue the wick in with a very very thick coat of epoxy or araldite or whatever you have. this bomb can also be made with pvc pipe and although you will need to glue on the end caps it will probly be a much safer explosion.

oh and if you want to make the house collapse, you should find the main support beam/whatever and pant your explosive in side it by making a hole and so on. if you wanted to blow the whole house up (sending the front door halfway down the street, etc) this bomb is not for you unless you make one with a piece of pipe with a very large diametre and length.

to get the gun powder you could dismatle fireworks, bullets, etc. sorry my reply is in sections.

you could mix fertilizer and diesel fluid. that would be pretty big.

Lol. The main support. Houses won't collapse by having one support go missing. They will become unsafe but that's about it. There is no way he could get a normal sized house to implode, And to explode it as ghost had said would require more than he could or should use.

If you wanna take the house out, Molotov cocktail, end of story. Don't be in the house when you light it on fire. Many a stupid arsonist has lit gas on fire in a room and then died of the burns they suffered.

My advice though, don't do it. It's a felony in the states, and i assume it's just as bad in britain or maybe even worse. Also if anyone gets hurt, they will charge you with causing the injuries.
