i read in the paper that in isral or somwere they were makeing home made missiles out of amonuam nitrate and engine oil and other stuff.the paper waz scetchy on details due to terrisim but it did say that they have a range of about 5 miles and r made from common chemicals and junk. i would realylike to make one .

Any type of aerosol can would work to detonate ANFO, unless you have some sort of other method, like taking apart a very high explosive connon shell out of a firework would work also.

Well you had mentioned two keywords (Ammonium Nitrate & engine oil) and IED attacks is very common in the Middle East and is made up of ANFO "Ammonium Nitrate/Fuel oil" explosives. A pyro can be considered as a terrorist also, it just depends on how you use it. Also missile's explode That's not really considered "pyro".

ANFO is a btich to det properly, you need a blasting cap and a decent booster.


Also - AN is used in very few rocket fuels these days. Your best bet is an Rcandy propellant. Go search, and prosper.

Personally I have made ANFO once and got it to detonate with a explosive charge from a firework. I also had obtained this information from another site which the information there is far superior from what I have seen here. I also belive that it could be possible, but another way is if you want to detonate ANFO and have no type of way to detonate, throw it in a fire, the Ammonium Nitrate will melt and decompose (Explode). Happened here too.
