Okay I just realized that all the old topics have been incinerated... So I'll recreate one of my old tutorials while my video camera remains broken. The reason I bother, is because it seems like mostly everyone here is somewhat new. So here we go.
In this picture tutorial I'll teach you how to do two seperate things with a lighter that are quite fun to watch.
First off, get a lighter, preferably a BIC(Larger flint and gas volume.)
Secondly, using a knife or a baseball bat, simply disassemble the top of the ligher until you have all of the following ingrediants.
Thirdly or third off or on the third matter or even banana sundae, take the spring and pull it out until there is enough space for you to twine the flint in it, it should look a wee bit like this.
Fourthly, hold the end of the spring(the part without the flint) and take another lighter and heat the flint up for up to one minute(It really varies), basically, heat it up until it's glowing red(any sooner or later and it won't work nearly as well.)
This is what the hot glowing red flint looks like through a camera lens, it'll look different with your own eyes.
At this point, throw the spring at any hard surface. Unfortunetaly, the result was too harsh on my camera and just looked like one giant ball of light, so I can't supply a picture of what the result looks like. Actually here, look at the picture yourself.
It's basically a shit load of sparatic sparks engulfing a somewhat large area, very beautiful, (Better results if done at night(Really fun to throw at friends(Although you shouldn't(It can hurt... (Not that I'd know.)))))
Okay, after you've had fun with that, it's time for the real fun to begin. Now carefully dismantle the rest of the lighter, it should look like this.
At this point, you should be able to hear gas slowly leaking out of the lighter. Set the lighter on the ground near nothing that could catch on fire very easily, and don't stand next to it for god's sake.
Light the gas that is being expelled from the ligher and step a ways back, on average it takes about 45 seconds for it do do anything. Just sit back, and enjoy the show.
Well I hope that brings enjoyment to you guys, be safe.

The wonders of Calcium Carbide! Torch AND Bomb!
These are a few pictures revealing an idea of what it will be about.
Have fun guys.
