i was thinking more along the lines of an M80 taped around a Butane canister, but that might be to dangerouse due to shrapnel. Any idea's?

thats whear i got the idea. but i dont want to spend the money on remote detonation, and i dont have enough fuse to swim back and watch it safely

also this may/may not be a problem but the board is coated with a thin layar of fiber glass. Would that spliter or creat shrapnel?

Making explosives is breaking federal law. Make acetone peroxide.

fiberglass is too lite i think. it wouldn't make it too far. it really wouldn't be deadly shrapnel because it tends to turn into a powder when broken so the worst that can happen is that you get little pieces of glass in your skin that's gonna irritate you alot or you inhale the fiberglass and it damages your throat and lungs. i don't think a butane canister and an m80 will be strong anough to blow up an an entire surf board. all it will do is make a hole in the surfboard.i would spray the board with butane. a shit load of it. but leave a corner with no butane.then put an m80 every few inches across the board with the ends of the fuses in the butane. place a piece of cloth or yarn on the butaneless part with a large portion of whatever you're burning overlapping with the butane. you would use this because it burns slow and it'll give the board time to go out far anough to be safe. then light the cloth or whatever and push the board out to sea. the burning cloth will light the butane which would in turn light the m80s which will light at amost simultaneous times causeing a fairly decent explosion. run back a bit though to make sure no flaming pieces of surfboard don't hit you. i don't think a surf can catch fire but w/e. have fun.
