How to get An out of an fertilizer

Heyho.. first of all, a small excuse for my english.. german guy over here
Now my question.. in germany ammoniumnitrate is not easy to get, but u can legally buy a fertilizier with lime ( i guess thats the word in englisch for it xD) and an in it.
Now my question, could it be possible to seperate those two? i thought about putting it into water and to heat it.. because lime can't come together with water and then seperate the water/an and heat it untill the water is away to go get the nitrate.

Thanks for ur help

That's called CALAM (Calcium/Ammonium fertiliser) - And yes, you're on the right track. Basically, you grind it up, and dissolve it into cold water. Not all of it will dissolve - The insoluble calcium hydroxide will fall to the bottom, and then you filter it out, leaving you with a solution of pure ammonium nitrate, which can be evaporated or used to form a fuel oil emulsion.

I think you're going to go far, here.

It's clearly lost-in-translation. He means farmer, most likely..
